Wellbeing Practitioners

Delivered by Sheffield Mind

What is it?

Many older people told us that making that first move to get out and about seemed like an impossible task, unless there was professional help available.

The Wellbeing Practitioners provide intensive counselling to people over 50 who are experiencing low mental wellbeing, and where this may be affecting their ability to engage and interact.

The service can be provided in your own home or wherever you feel most comfortable, and is delivered by professional counsellors from Sheffield Mind.

Sometimes having someone to speak to can really lift a weight off your shoulders. Our Wellbeing Practitioners will work with you to find out why you are feeling lonely and support you with practical ways to build your confidence.

All the Wellbeing Practitioners on this project are experienced counsellors and will work with you on a one-to-one basis to identify what type of counselling will best work to address the low mental wellbeing that you are experiencing.

Who is it for?

This service is targeted at people aged 50 or over, where talking to someone and access to professional counselling or therapy might help. You may be somebody who has become socially isolated due to experiencing low mental wellbeing or you might not feel confident enough to leave your house.
